EAN-Search

EAN, or EAN13, stands for International Article Number (originally European Article Number). It is an extension of the UPC codes and you'll find them as barcodes on most everyday products. Sometimes the barcode is also called GTIN or GTIN13 (Global Trade Identifier).

The EAN includes the country of origin, the manufacturer and a product number. In addition to that it includes a checksum.

When you only look at the barcode, you can't easily see which product it belongs to. Thus, this website provides a reverse EAN lookup, that tells you the product the EAN code belongs to.

Currently the database includes over 198.474.000 entries, thats huge, but still only a subset of all the EANs ever issued.

For all automated queries, please use the XML API. You can use the API to integrate our database into your own applications. (some easy examples)

Due to the enormous amount of bots and scrapers, we have to limit the numbers of queries users can make on this website. To make more queries, you have to sign up for an account.

Unfortunately we can't make available the full database. Please use the search function on the website or the web tools provided. Also, please refrain from spidering the website. Access will be blocked after excessive usage.

We are happy about all contributions. Due to the workload, we can't add single barcodes, but if you have a list of EANs to add, please mail us an Excel sheet or CVS file. Thanks!
